My lucky break into web was a 2.5 year apprenticeship at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, designing and building their first web site, under the expert tutelage of 'Dr Keyboard'. After the IMechE I spent some time freelancing (on dial up modems...) before joining Geoff Howe Marketing Communications, working on Flash animation and web design for some top brands including Budweiser, Hitachi, Hills & Diagio. From there, more freelance, including an extended period with Tribe Marketing, again creating Microsites and web based promotions for brands such as Starbucks, Colegate, Unilever and more.
Tools & Technologies
I was brought up by a Graphic Designer, so I have been on Mac since birth, swapped to PC for 12 years (so am no Mac snob), back to Mac now so fluent on both. My main strengths are Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch, closely followed by Principle (for rapid prototyping) and InDesign. I have basic experience of Unity, and whilst I am not a natural coder, I keep fully up to date with my HTML, as any good web/mobile designer should, and am happy providing all typographical CSS with my delivered designs.
